Capetown 2016 - Thursday!

After chilling for 2 days at the hotel (while I was busy having Lasik...), on Thursday we headed out to the Victoria & Alfred Waterfront! The Waterfront is the size of 180 rugby fields and is the #1 most visited place in all of South Africa, hosting 23 million visitors per year! It is like a huge boardwalk by the ocean with malls, activities, and lots of people!

Bur first...Caedmon has really been enjoying our continental breakfast at the hotel! We always tease him about being a slow eater - he's always the last one at the table! (unless Paw is around...)

It was only about a 30 minute drive from our hotel - it's so fun to see new things!

Love this sign!

We had been excited for awhile about riding the Cape Wheel! Cambree had recently read a book about the first ferris wheel, so she was especially excited!

Table Mountain from the Wheel

After the ferris wheel, we headed to famous Gibson's restaurant for this....a cheeseburger and peanut butter brownie milkshake. I think Gibson's might have to make another appearance during this vacation!

Then, we headed to Two Oceans Aquarium (still at the Waterfront!) to see all of the marine life!

This is what Blu thinks of marine life save the earth presentations...

The kids loved it though!

And Mom loved it too! Dad and I...survived it.

See Mom's face??! She really loved it!

After the aquarium, we split up for awhile and Dad got a massage, the girls went shopping, and the boys found a place to play mini-golf!

Finally, it was time for our trip up to Table Mountain! In a cable car! We have recently ridden cable cars up to the Alps in Austria and to the Great Wall in Beijing, but this was Mom & Dad and the kids' first cable car ride!

He looks so innocent..

Once we got to the top, it was FREEZING and WINDY and super terrifying that the kids were going to fall! (Well, for me & Dad it was..not so much for anyone else.) #safetypatrol

The island in the distance is Robben Island, where Nelson Mandela was imprisoned during Apartheid.

We were exhausted and spotted an Ocean Basket on the way home and headed in for some seafood!

Another full, great day in Capetown! Road trip tomorrow!
