Summer is here!

Summer is here, but due to this gorgeous weather (73 right now!) it feels nothing like summer!!  Here's what some of our first week of summer has looked like!
Insulation - yuck!  I'm so glad I won't have to do that again for awhile!  But we passed inspection!
Sheetrocking the house in Bangs!  Blu has hired Caedmon and his good friend TJ for some of the grunt work this week!

That day that a storm knocks out the internet all day...no worries for Cambree!
The boys have started P90x like they did last summer to get ready for Fall Football!
Pullups in the trees!
Early morning pushups!
Last day of school pics - we now have a Sophomore!

And a Freshman!
And a 7th grader!
We finally got to have an in-person service at church!  We only had about 30 people attend, but it was great to see faces!
Sunday night cookout at Paw and Bmaw's!
We've had some appointments this week - a shot for Caedmon, orthodontist for Caedmon and Cambree, and Percy's first vet appointment!  Some places make you take your temp outside, use hand sanitizer, and wear masks, while others let you come in like it's no big deal!

May Days!

Well I bet you weren't expecting a blog post so soon!  I'm trying to do better!  Our summer has ALMOST officially begun!  And it feels NO different than the last 2 months - haha!
I have really been trying to put my new bike to use!  But I still can't make it up the hill without walking!

This past Sunday, we left to drive to Splendora, TX after church to spend the evening and the next day with Wes & Laurie!  They are staying at the neatest little retreat center!  It was great to spend some time (LOTS of time playing Hand & Foot!) with them!

Those are some sexy bald heads right there!

We spent some time brainstorming and shooting for New Day's 10 year anniversary video!

It was miraculously great weather for the Houston area!

The trip home felt LONG...I always love seeing this statue of Sam Houston though!  Love me some Texas!

Meanwhile, our kids went out to the lake with Paw & Bmaw!

Fun with (2nd) Cousin Dustin!

I chopped my hair off!!  Well, my Mama did it for me ;)

My Daddy will be 68 tomorrow!!  We had a great little party for him tonight!

Always some Maple Nut Goodies!

And Aqua Velva ;)

Dad got SO many cleaning supplies - I would say cleaning is his hobby!

We just kept laughing and laughing as he got cleaning product after cleaning product!

My Dad is a REALLY great man.  If you know him, you are blessed.  If you don't, you're missing a LOT of fun and laughter in your life.  :)

A Month-Long Update!

Well, somehow a whole month has passed!  Not a whole lot has changed about our lives...except for one little thing.  We'll get to that later.  ;)  Enjoy a month's worth of pictures!

We've gotten to hang out with extended family quite a bit - lots of great cousin time!

Don't ask...or tell.
Apparently this is a "unicorn mask."  You can tell she doesn't have enough school work to do!
A delicious steak supper at Cloud & Rita's house!
Silliness with Daddy!
Cambree decided to make nshima for lunch one day!

This is what we've been working on for the past month...getting the pool water blue again!
Horseshoes at Shade & Caity's house...this was the longest game EVER.

Sweet girl cousins!
Plenty of trampoline time!
Caedmon purchased a slip-n-slide!  He asked, "Do you know what that is, Mama?"
Caedmon and Cason also used all of their hard-earned money to buy supplies to plant their own garden!  It's awesome, although Mama is usually the one who ends up watering it...
We've had a few unit set deliveries, all to warehouses, which makes for EASY unloads! Here's two full sets for Hurst-Euless-Bedford ISD.
Hannon & Cambree
Grandpa has a garden too!
This happened once.  Daddy will take her to practice from now on.
More cousin time!

We stayed busy for a few days making and delivering Teacher Appreciation Gifts to some of our kids' amazing teachers!
Cason playing with his second cousin Isaiah!
I smell trouble!
Hanging on the front porch!
Mother's Day was awesome!  Cambree sewed me a new Bible cover and quilted a table mat, Cason got me roses and chocolate, and Caedmon got me a new Nike hat!
The pool's looking good now!
Church is back on (for the youth anyway), so we had a Saturday work day at a house near the lake!  We worked AND had fun!

So grateful to be back to Wednesday night church with our youth!

We've been VERY busy building the house in Bangs.  It has been a true family affair with everyone pitching in when Blu needs us!
Headed to work with Paw!
Caulking!
Eeeww!!

This is the first house Blu's built that actually requires inspections!  He gets so proud every time he passes!  The plumbing inspector said his work looked better than a lot of professional plumbers!  #thankyouZambia
Putting up siding
Painting the top so we can take down scaffolding!

Installing hurricane ties!

Caedmon hauling dirt
More work on siding!

Grandpa (our usual custodian) was the expert insulator!
This house has an awesome loft that will have a spiral staircase going to it!
Paw working hard!
So...the big change in our house...is that we got a dog!  If you know me at all, you are shocked right now.  Meet Perseus Jackson Tidwell aka Percy.  We have had our eye on a neighbor who breeds German Shepherds, so we wrote him about 5 weeks ago to ask if he had any puppies, and they had just been born!  The mom weaned them early, so at 4 weeks old he called and told us to come pick ours out!
Caedmon refused to touch him until he had a bath!

A lot of our time is spent on the porch hanging with Percy!
He looks innocent...but I have to set my alarm TWICE to get up in the middle night to let him out of his crate to use the bathroom.  It's like having a newborn!

Taking Percy in the basket to ride over to Mama Dee and Grandpa's house!
Our May is definitely different than we expected!  Our kids are finishing up their schoolwork this week, and most of our summer events have been cancelled.  We are going to be enjoying the pool, working on various projects this summer, and hopefully taking a little vacation at the end of July!
