Spring Break 2019!

We had a calm Spring Break mostly at home this past week!  Cambree and I took a day trip to Abilene the weekend before to get some shopping and our nails done!  The boys did a baseball draft (Blu's coaching 14U!), and then we WORKED (hello, mud and tape...) all week long.  The kids had some cousin time in there, and the big two had a youth trip to a trampoline park in Abilene.  Finally, on Friday we were able to get away and head to Dallas for the TobyMac concert and Saturday at the Perot Museum!  It was a fun little get-away and now we are all ready for the last 2 months of school and then SUMMER TIME!

Pedicures and Manicures for us on our girls' trip to Abilene!

So grown up!
We found lots of great deals for my growing girl!
She's a cutie!
It was SO windy!
Now THAT'S a potato!
Caedmon's friend Caleb came and hung out with us the first weekend of Spring Break!  He's SUCH a sweetheart!
Lots of time at home relaxing!  The kids stayed up late and slept late every day!
Caedmon looking grown up, leaving for his youth group trip!
Dallas is my favorite city in Texas, for sure!
IHOP is one of our favorite places to eat!
Ready for some pancakes!
Ready to see TobyMac...and lots of others!  Jeremy Camp, We are Messengers, Jordan Feliz, Aaron Cole, and Ryan Stevenson!
Checking out a cave in South Africa in a virtual reality game!
Cason with Starry Night!
Cambree chilling with a Lego Man..
These are our museum faces...we liked the Lego exhibit but once we got to the Universe section...
So cool!
Blu kept trying to tell us what this REALLY was, but all we could say is "The Night at the Museum guy!!"
Hanging out with friends in the park..
Cason fits right in!
Blu had as much fun as the kids!

Cason with the Blue Man!
Don't mess up!
Creepy!!
Cambree with Mona Lisa!
Blu hanging out.  The guy has some MUSCLES. :)
Crazy heads!
We have a hard time finding places we all agree on to eat...Caedmon wants Dickey's BBQ, Blu wants Chick-fil-a (EVERY day...), Cambree wants McDonald's, Cason wants Chicken Express, and I want Indian food.  But we found this place and ALL were excited!  (We ate shawarmas ALL the time in Zambia!)
Deconstructed shawarmas!

Dragon Relays

We recently had the Dragon Relays at our home track and loved getting to see the kids participate in all of their events!

Cambree is the most adorable pole vaulter ever!  We're eagerly awaiting her to clear that first height! (her and most of the other 7th grade girls trying pole vault!!)

Caedmon tolerates the 800m run but really loves running the mile!

So handsome!

Go Cambree go!
Cheering everyone on!  These chairs have come in SO handy this year...

She's so close!

Cambree's face when she realized they put her in the mile run!

Cason and AJ enjoying the races!

Caedmon and Andie, ready for their races!
So fun!

Always talking... ;)

Paw is making fun of the hot dog I brought from home... ;)

So cute!

Andie & AJ cheering on Early at the track meet! (And runs the 200m!)

Go cousins go!

Caedmon & Bmaw

Caedmon making Sierra laugh at something :)

She looks like a pro!!

They have 2 more track meets and then District!

House Building!

We are still hard at work on Mom & Dad's house!  With the exception of the putting in of the septic system, we (Paw, Bmaw, Blu, me, Mom, Dad, and some Cloud & Shade) have done all the work on the house ourselves!  I really didn't think it was that bad...until it came time to sheetrock and mud and tape.  #neveragain  #ihatemud  #ihatetrowels  #myhandshurt  #arewedoneyet

This was Day 2 of the mud & tape...when I had to go around and put a second coat on everything.  Blah.

All 3 guys putting up the sheetrock on the TALL ceiling!

Mama Dee is the queen of the corners when it comes to mud & tape!

Blu thought his dad was falling off the roof and tried to catch him, getting a nasty cut from the metal roof!

Paw has all sorts of neat tools to help make things easier!  (except for mud & tape...no tools there!)

Time to put up the siding!
BMaw worked for days on the ceiling and very high places...she's Superwoman!
We'll see how it goes, but we'd love to be done by Easter weekend on Cactus Corner for Mom & Dad!
