Corona Virus 2020 - Lots of time on our hands!

Well, here we are... Spring Break has come and gone, and we now see ourselves with an extra 3 weeks (at least!) out of school!  Having a business that is completely based on school districts has brought that to a halt as well, so we are finding things to do like the rest of the world who is going through this - it's so crazy!
Thankfully, we still have work, as we can all shift to Bangs to the house Blu has been building for his brother Cloud but hasn't had the time to really work on.  Now, there's plenty of time, and he's hired some of Caedmon's friends to help out this week!
Cason wasn't really a fan of all the work.  Look at how much it's rained around here!
We are ready for the Corona Virus Quarantine!
Cason got to finally build his robotic toy that he got for Christmas!
Cambree pretty much needed a whole new wardrobe, so we went and got her some things and she had fun trying on prom dresses just for fun too!
While working, Blu stepped off the porch onto a pipe and sprained his ankle!
Ouch!
On March 17th, Paw turned 63 and we had a family bash to celebrate him!

The cousins are back together!  Keysi and Rita and Olga are back from Costa Rica due to the chaos in Costa Rica.  Cloud had to stay behind to run the business.
Paw with 6 of his 7 grandkids!  Brenden will be here soon!

Massive Nerf wars!

I love this pic!

We've had a few sleepovers, but the kids are already getting bored!  Cambree & Keysi decided to go for a run and ended up running a mile and walking two!
Some good old fashioned Monopoly for Cason and AJ!
So basically we're working on the house, trying to figure out what our church is going to do, deep-cleaning random drawers/cabinets, baking banana bread and cooking lots of meals, etc.!  And having plenty of time to blog ;)

Spring Break 2020 - Angel Fire, NM!

I think somehow, we have become a ski family!!  Blu wanted to take the kids about a year and a half ago, so we opted for Cloudcroft, a supposedly good place to learn.  Well, we lucked into the snowstorm of the century when we were there and had amazing skiing weather, and we all learned!  So this year, for Spring Break, we decided to step things up a notch and head a few hours north of that to Angel Fire, New Mexico!  My senior class went there for our Senior Trip, but I didn't ski due to my ACL surgery 16 months before.  But I loved the place and after researching, we decided that would be a good place to spend our Spring Break!  It's a 9.5 hour drive from here, so we left on Monday, skied Tuesday - Thursday, and drove home Friday!  We had a BLAST (and returned home to find out that Texas has no toilet paper and that Spring Break has been extended for another week!!)
9.5 hours is about the maximum of what we can handle in a vehicle together!  Thankfully, Mom & Dad let us borrow their King Ranch for the long trip!

Here we are on the "Headin' Home" Slope - a 3.5 mile green run down the mountain!  The chair lift was a 11 minute ride, so it was a long ride both up and down the mountain!

Here I am coming down Jasper, my first blue slope.  I was SUPER proud of myself!

Blu can ski better than all of us, but he's very patient!

Here we are on Day 3 about to ski down Prospector, a very steep blue.  About 3 minutes after this picture, I proceeded to take 3 hard and long falls/slides down Prospector!

On our last morning, we finally got some snow!

Snow...and cereal!

Ready to ski on Day 3!

Cason is a fearless skier!  He's the King of the Snowplow, and he skies FAST!

On the last day, Blu took the boys on some Black Diamonds and some slopes with moguls, and he was worn out!

Twins!

Before we left, Chelsea (a senior) spent Sunday afternoon with Cambree!  So sweet!
This guy...
The land of horrible roads and low speed limits!
We took a detour in Fort Sumner, NM to see the grave of Billy the Kid!  The kids weren't impressed, but Blu was!

We stayed in the Pinetree Commons condos, a cute little condo we found on Expedia!  It was a TINY 2 bedroom, 1 bathroom, but it worked for us!

We played a TON of games of Yahtzee and Nerts!

The Angel Fire sunrise in the background!

It got up to about 50 degrees each day, so it really wasn't very cold!
Helmets this time, after Cason sliced his head open last trip!
Everything was RIGHT near the slopes - our condo, the rental shop, a good restaurant - all about half a mile from the slopes!
Cambree's the cutest skier ever!
You can see how it's pretty slushy at the base of the mountain!  Only one more week left in the ski season!
As far as technique, Caedmon is probably the best skier of the kids!

Here we go up the chair lift!  It was crowded at the base of the mountain, but a lot of the runs (especially the blues) were practically empty!
This stud!  Don't you love his yellow gloves?!  I bought us all goggles and gloves for this trip.  Blu lost his gloves the first day....

It was SO pretty and such great weather!
On Day 3, Cambree and I skied a bunch of blues together - it was fun!
Taking a snack/water break at the base!

Snacks = apples for this girl!
One time, we let the three of them go up alone and come down on some blues.  We were a little nervous, but they did it!
This boy could ski for HOURS without stopping!

Looking like a pro!
A little fun at Zeb's Restaurant at the end of the day!

More yahtzee!
We were TIRED and SORE at the end of the day!
We stopped up at the Summit Haus Restaurant for hot cocoa and green chile soup!

Cambree REALLY had to use the bathroom, so we stopped in the middle of a slope and she tried to inch her way to the side to find a spot!

This looks like a fall, but it's actually her launching herself backwards to try to get back on the slope!

I almost wet my pants observing all of this!!

So for our very last run, I told her we HAD to conquer Prospector again, since I had fallen on it 3 times.  I was terrified, but we DID IT and I didn't fall!

We got some professional photos done at the top of the mountain!

And then on Friday, we drove down the mountain for about an hour in a snowstorm!

It always feels good to be HOME!
