Road Trippin'!

The Camp family in La Grange, Georgia is super special to us!  They came to New Day in Zambia and stayed for multiple weeks at a time twice when we lived there.  On our furloughs back in the USA, we always made it a point to visit La Grange and had an amazing time hanging out with the Camps.  Our kids are all the same age and often act like siblings.  Caedmon traveled with them back to New Day last summer, and they grew even closer.  So when Gracie got engaged and set her wedding date, there was no way at least some of us were going to miss it!  Caedmon and I were the only ones free, so we opted to take a mother/son road trip!  It was a super fun weekend together! (aside from the gargoyles, but that's another story...)

Caedmon reunited with Ben, his roommate in Zambia last summer!

Me and Amy - who kept dragging me out onto the dance floor!

Caedmon having a blast!

These sweet girls!  Abby is Caedmon's age, and Liddy is Cambree's age.

Benjamin & Gracie Ryle!

Sweet Amy - she means a ton to me!

The reception was at the Hills & Dales Estate and was gorgeous!

It was hot, but it wasn't August in Texas hot! (Or October in Zambia hot!)

Fun fact:  when we were coming back from Zambia, La Grange had an open missions pastor position that was discussed with us.  Funny to think how our lives might have been different if God had led us down that path!

Jonas (Cason's age) & Caedmon

There they go!

Jonas couldn't wait for Caedmon to get there, so he came outside to say hi before the wedding!

Such a great wedding date! (and driver..)

13 1/2 hour road trip!  We left Friday, got there at 3pm on Saturday, and drove the whole way home after church on Sunday!

It was a whirlwind of a weekend, but it was a blast, and I'd do it all again in a second!

Worship Camp!

Blu got a flyer in the church mail a couple of months ago about a camp for youth worship leaders!  It was a 4 day camp in Fort Worth and it fit in great with Cambree's schedule, so she was excited to go and get to work on some of her guitar skills!

Cam showing Mama Dee the stuff she learned the morning after camp!

Mom & I had a great time picking her up (with some shopping and Panera thrown in there)

Morning worship in the Rotunda

Each camper was placed in one of 8 bands.  Cam was the guitarist for the Hosea Band, one of the intermediate bands.

Her two closest friends were Pedro & Josh. (Josh actually was in Caedmon's small group at Super Summer in 8th grade - small world!)

The showcase concert!

She was nervous!

Ready to watch!

Master classes - this one was focused on Music Theory and not her favorite!

Guitar class!

This courtyard is right about the place where one of my childhood houses would have been.

Crumbl Cookies for the WIN!  Oh my goodness these were GOOD!

My old street - West Spurgeon!

Cam making new friends FAST.

I could not believe her nice hotel room she got all to herself for the whole camp!

There she goes!

Her musical skills definitely come from her Daddy!

I LOVE this pic!

She thought the Southwestern Seminary campus was so pretty!

My old backyard - hours of badminton and tetherball out there!

Fun with new friends!
