Donkeys, Cheerleading, and Track!

It's a dreary Saturday here - weather-wise anyway!  But we got to sleep in, get some work done on Mom & Dad's house, got my house cleaned, grocery shopping done, helped Teacher Diana with dismantling a fence, and sent Cambree to a sleepover!  And all of that before 4pm!  It's been a nice busy around here - not as crazy busy as the Fall, but lots of fun things still going on!  Here's a look!

Blu was asked to play in the Donkey Basketball Game fundraiser for the Girls Athletics program - it was a RIOT!!  And he could barely move the next day!

Here he is missing the free-throw for the championship!!!

Pull!!!  This may be why he was so sore the next day...

He was the only one who made a basket!  (besides the other girls game-winning free throw in the championship game!)

Donkey rides at halftime!

Paw and I DIED laughing in the stands!

And then it was time for cheer tryouts!!  Cambree was SOOOO nervous, but this was her face when she came out and said, "Mama, I NAILED it!"

Cambree & Brianna, who made the team!

Jordan, Raylee, Cambree, and Emily spent all day together on Saturday practicing!

Good luck goodies from me and Raylee's mom!

Waiting to go in....SO nervous!

She opted for a straight ponytail, lip gloss, and mascara - it was MADNESS in the tryout room!

Ready to go!

Practicing her chant!

She may not can do a cartwheel, but she is getting her jumps down!

SHE MADE IT!!  They posted this just before the Friday track meet!  She was sad to not see some of her close friends' names on the list, but she did it!

Every now and then, we still get a family game night of Settlers in!

So on Wednesday, Cambree came home and told us she was running hurdles at the track meet and had NEVER PRACTICED ONCE.  So what does SuperDad do?!  Build some practice hurdles!

First track meet of...well, ever, for our kids!  Here's Caedmon about 2 hours before his first race...terrified he would miss it!  ;)

He ran the 800 and did ok!

He ran the mile and did awesome!  He had a super fast last lap and got 6th place and a ribbon!

This girl before pole vault!

It was COLD and Cason wasn't super impressed with the 3pm-midnight track meet, but he survived!

Fun with Daddy :)

Grandpa & Mama Dee, who pretty much NEVER miss anything our kids are involved in!

Dad is still awake!!

Oops!  ;)

This girl.  She tried out for cheerleader, made it, and did pole vault and hurdles all in one week!  She is learning the pole vault and did not horrible for her first meet!  She decided hurdles are not her event and will be searching (frantically) for something else to run next week!
