Long-term volunteers!

Last summer we had such an amazing experience having Nick here as a 6 week volunteer that we decided to do it again this summer! This summer we are welcoming Larry & Lynne from Georgia, Christin from Nebraska, and Allison from Texas all here for 4-6 weeks!

Larry & Lynne are living in Debbie's hut while she is in the USA for a quick visit. Lynne is staying busy with the New Day garden planting rape and cabbage. (Ever heard of cow poop tea??!!) She is also keeping an eye on our chickens & rabbits and a close eye on our very pregnant goat! Larry is teaching a basic computer class to our staff, helping Blu & Wes with Bible studies and devotions, teaching Science experiments on Fridays in the New Day school, and will work with our kids on creating their own videos! You can check out their blog at www.zambianpanda.blogspot.com to read about their experiences. I enjoy reading it and I am here with them! :)

Home sweet home for 6 weeks!

Lynne used baby dolls to share the Gospel message at Kids Club last weekend!

The staff's first computer class with Larry - they are SO excited!

Christin came to New Day last summer with her church. She is a wealth of knowledge on all things classroom and curriculum-oriented. She has worked hard to prepare assessments for all of the New Day kids, so she is giving those this week and next and will then give us ideas on how to help those who are behind. She is also working with Laurie on curriculum issues. Christin spends EVERY free second with the New Day kids - in the classroom all morning, quick lunch, then back to school until 5pm doing fun learning games with the kids! She is even eating supper with the kids 3 times a week!

Allison will be here in 3 days and then our summer long-term volunteer family at New Day will be complete!
