Cambree's Senior Trip - On the Road!

Our kids get to choose a senior trip (within budget! and that fits in with the family calendar!) when they are seniors.  For Caedmon's trip, we went skiing over Christmas to Vail, Colorado.  For Cambree's trip, there was really only ONE week of the year where the five of us would be together. Because of that, it made for a LOT of chaos/trip planning stress having graduation, a party, senior trip, and then Caedmon's birthday all in a row.  BUT WE DID IT, and it was a GREAT trip!

One of our kids' favorite memories is the camping trip we took to Zimbabwe when they were younger.  (You can catch up on those memories here!) So Cambree wanted to recreate that trip and do an unplugged, primitive camping and hiking trip!

So we loaded up on camping equipment, packed the truck, and headed West!  Here's a look at our adventures on the road! (42 hours on the road, to be exact!)

New Mexico..my least favorite state to drive through!  (Oklahoma is a close second.  Or maybe even a tie!)

We drove through Colorado for about an hour!

Meet Turbo :)

The drive through Southern Utah was BEAUTIFUL!

SO happy to see this sign after 6 days!

Cam got some driving time!  We discovered she loves driving in the passing lane.  At all times.

Cason drove a little bit too!  He got the raw end of the deal and drove on the bumpiest road so we all complained about his driving. ;)  The rest of the driving was done by Blu and Caedmon!

Pretty Utah!

We didn't hike Bryce Canyon, but we drove right beside it!

We drove in and out of Dixie National Forest - gorgeous!

Almost there!

Cason is VERY quiet on road trips!

Backseat buddies!

After spending the night at a hotel in Clovis, NM, we were ready to drive!

We took Paw & Bmaw's truck (and canoe!)

Backseat riding!

We got to see Whitney, Matt, & Hannah in Lubbock when we stopped for a quick supper!

They love each other.  I promise.

Ready to go!

SO pretty!

Fun stop in New Mexico!

Smiling.  Because it's day 1.

Twins.

Arizona!

Winters, Texas..the first of MANY bathroom stops!
