The Fastest Two Weeks Ever!

Well that was definitely the fastest school term break ever! With the trip to Botswana and then two solid weeks spent in the library and my classroom, that break FLEW by! So here it is, Friday morning, and I am in my classroom plowing through my to-do list to be ready for Monday! (While also filling out 35 pages per child to re-enroll my kids at Bangs Middle School in August - whew!) Here is a look at a little that's been happening around here the last 2 weeks!

Blu in line to buy electricity units...

Cason looking handsome for church!

We have had a huge swarm of bees under one of our containers for YEARS. After many attempts to smoke them out, we finally decided to have an epic smoke-out and then move the container so that they didn't have a place to come back to (and this gave us more space around our garage for backing in, out, etc.). Once the container was moved, they found 2 wheelbarrows full of honeycombs underneath!

Yummy natural honey!

Liz crawled under to make sure nobody missed any honey!

The container's new location! (desperately needing a mural!)

Me and sweet old Georgina at church!

The girls asked Uncle Blu to give them a job, so they helped install a hot water heater and put ceiling boards up at the clinic!

That pencil behind her ear - too cute!

Plumbing fun!

My mom (and dad, but mainly mom, as dad was busy with Prosthetics) was a HUGE help in the library!! We cleaned out books, consolidated all of our series, went through box after box of newly donated books, were able to donate some to another orphanage in our area, and voila! A "new" library for the kids!

Late afternoon on the front porch!

A glimpse of some of the prosthetics goings on - I didn't get many pictures, but I'll steal some from their blog when they return to the USA! Here Cambree, who loves to help translate, is sitting on a woman's lap from last year, who calls Cambree "my granddaughter!" She calls Cambree periodically through the year and brought her a bag of peanuts!

Little Maggie in a dress the Prosthetics team brought for the girls!

Katie helping Luyando for the 5th year in a row!

The team has trained Protashow - he can now do so much!

A LONG evening game of Risk with Lance, who was here doing videos for 2 weeks!

Have I introduced Chipo & Kennedy? These are New Day's newest employees! Chipo is a godly young woman from Lusaka who has a business degree and will be taking over a lot of my financial duties. Kennedy is a great Christian man from Macha who is our new kitchen manager!

Working with Chipo (on a Saturday morning - boo!) to teach her payroll!

School starts Monday! An overview of our last term and last 12 weeks at New Day will look like this:

Field Trip for younger kids, Lusaka trip for Cambree's braces, Oklahoma team, Field trip for older kids, Arkansas VBS team, Missouri group visit, Lusaka trip for Cambree's braces, final sale, move into the Ark for the last week, Wilcoxes return, and then we leave! Whew. People ask me all the time, "How are you feeling?" I'd let you know if I could figure out the words to process it all! Prayers appreciated.
