New Day Welcomes the Cook Family!

We are excited to announce that the Cook family from Walhalla, South Carolina, will be joining us at New Day in the Fall! Ricky & Niki, along with kids Austin, Coby, & Kelsey, will be filling the position of volunteer coordinators at the orphanage. They will be handling all of the logistics of volunteer teams (transportation, food, housing, questions, etc.!) Now that we are hosting up to 12 teams a year and 100+ volunteers, we have seen that we need someone who can focus most of their time and talents on our volunteers. During the "off-season," they will be active in ministry in and around New Day!

The Cooks previously ran the Baptist Guesthouse in Lusaka from 2007-2009. Their oldest son Austin is about to start his senior year in South Carolina. Middle son Coby will begin his 9th grade year this fall at Rift Valley Academy boarding school in Kenya. Kelsey will be starting 7th grade this Fall in South Carolina. Ricky will join us at New Day a couple of months this Fall as he oversees the final construction of their house. Niki will then join us in the Spring making final arrangements for 2014 volunteers. The entire family will then arrive in June of 2014 ready to serve together here at New Day!

The Cooks are "long-term volunteers," meaning they are raising their own support, building their own house, etc. We are always humbled when God calls others to let go of everything that is familiar to them and to join us in ministry here at New Day. Welcome to New Day, Cook family! (You can check out their blog at newdaycookszambia.blogspot.com)
