Panama Day 4!

For Valentine's Day, we decided to hit up some of Panama's beaches!  We headed to the Pacific Coast - about 2 hours southwest of the city!

We had to cross the "Bridge of the Americas" - it was huge!
A random really pretty church - Basilica Menor Don Bosco

Our first stop was Playa Santa Clara!  The water was cold, but we had fun!

Just a stroll along the beach, on Valentine's Day! :)
This was our view for 3 hours at Santa Clara!
I'm loving Blu's $2 sunglasses he found since we left his at home!  ;)

It wasn't crowded at all!
I hung out here, reading a book, for most of the day!

Blu could spend ALL day in the water!

Blu found a snow cone shop, of some kind!
The guy walked around with an ice block and then shaved his own ice off!  Then, he poured strawberry syrup and sweetened condensed milk all over it!

Lunch - shrimp and rice!
This beach is famous for its VERY strong undertows!
It was HOT, but we had fun!

After a few hours, we decided to head back towards the city with a stop at Punta Chame along the way.  It is a peninsula on the Pacific Coast jutting out into the ocean and is supposed to be very secluded.  It was quite the little drive down crazy roads, but we found it and it was gorgeous!

Headed to Punta Chame!
It was beautiful!

Before Blu jumped in, I made him take another selfie, but the sun was SO bright - his faces were cracking me up!

The water was so much warmer, and the waves were big!

I got in a little bit, and then read my book some more while Blu jumped in the waves!

Our 2 hour drive back turned to a 3 hour drive back.  I'm gonna go ahead and say that we have NEVER seen traffic as horrendous as we've seen in Panama City!

After FINALLY making it to our hotel, we used Uber Eats to get some Chili's - time for some American food to wrap up our sweet Valentine's Day!  ;)
