Panama Day 3!

Today was a very nice, relaxing day in Panama!  We slept in again, had our delicious breakfast buffet upstairs, and then headed to cross a couple of things off of our list!  Up first was the Panama sign on Cinta Costera!  Cinta Costera is a nice boardwalk along the ocean (reminiscent of Durban!) where people are walking/running/biking for exercise in the super hot Panama weather!  We parked, found the sign, and headed back to our air-conditoned car!  ;)

Photo op!
A nice little stroll!

Blu checking it out!

IT.  WAS.  HOT.

Loving that huge Panama City skyline!
From there, we headed to the famous little neighborhood of Casco Viejo.  It was a little bit..chaotic..driving in this neighborhood!  But it was super cute, with cobblestone pathways and little shops everywhere!  We drove around and saw the sights and then made our way out of that tourist trap!  I was glued to the GPS on our phone, so the only picture I snapped was on our way out of these colorful houses!
After that, we went to Parque Metropolitano (Metropolitan Park), a neat place in the middle of the city to hike trails to get the best view of the city!  We're always up for a good hike when we're traveling!
Gorgeous trees!
It started off pretty easy!

Here are a lot of views from the top - it was so pretty and well worth the hike!

Blu tried to pull down as many branches as he could!

A panoramic view from the top!
Blu snapped this when I wasn't looking!
Once we conquered Parque Metropolitano, we drove a few minutes to Albrook Mall to a Panamanian restaurant, El Trapiche, for some authentic food.  After being here for 3 days, I think we can say with a tiny bit of authority that the food here is not.  very.  good.  I guess we were expecting more of a Mexican type food, but it's just all fried, bland, and not very good!  I got this Panamanian platter of chopped beef, chicken and rice (that was the best thing), a fried yucca, a fried plantain, a pork rind, some kind of corn and succotash puree, and a fried empanada thing with beef on it.  It was all pretty underwhelming!

After finding our way back to the hotel (driving is definitely the most stressful part of our days here!),  we decided to take a nap, catch up on some of our shows (Blue Bloods and This is Us!), and do NOTHING the rest of the day!  We got Smash Burger on Uber Eats and finally had a delicious meal!

Tomorrow we are headed to the beach for Valentine's Day!
