Just an update...

For all my daily blog checkers, I know you've been distraught since I haven't posted a blog in 5 days! ;) I thought I'd give you a quick update on what is coming up at New Day and around the Tidwell home! Many of you are emailing to ask about Mweene - he is doing great! He is still adjusting to the school schedule and has trouble staying awake, especially those last 30 minutes of the day! Teacher Carolyn says he is already following directions in English! It has been so neat to see some of the older boys, especially Misheck, take him under his wing and look out for him! Construction is still underway on the new school building. The iron sheets are almost all of the way up, and the plasterers will start the inside next week. Wiring has already been done, so once the plaster is up, we will be on the final stretch! The library is ALMOST finished! Blu is putting up the ceiling this week, and then Darbi will paint the ceiling, wax the floors, and be ready to build bookshelves! We have tons of books waiting to go in them! We have room for 3 more orphans at New Day - 2 girls and 1 boy. We are praying that God sends us these before January so that we can start a new school year in January with full classes. Please pray with us for this! On Saturday, we will kickoff the New Day Kids Club. We are inviting ANY child age 2-11 to come from 4pm-6pm every Saturday for games, Bible study, and a free meal. We are so excited about this and a chance to reach the kids around us who are 1) hungry and who 2) need Jesus! We also have a team arriving on Saturday, Bob & Dee from Collierville, Tennessee. Bob is a retired pediatrician so we will keep him busy doing checkups on each of kids and maybe even the village kids. Dee is a retired elementary teacher so she will be busy as well :) We are going to have her teach Cason, Axer, and Phillip for a week so that Teacher Carolyn has a chance to focus solely on the newer children who have arrived recently and need more one on one help. We have had 2 heavy rains that have cooled things off in this hot October! We have our swimming pool up so the Tidwell kids spend most of their free time there! Wes & Laurie are now in God's Country (Texas :) to speak at several churches. We miss them and feel their absence every day! That should catch you up on what's going on here at New Day - thank you for praying!

Got to meet (and hear) Wes and Laurie at FBC, Liberty TX on Sunday night. SO enjoyed learning more about NDO. They did a great job sharing about y'alls passion for ministry to those precious children!!
