Footloose!

OH my goodness what a weekend.  So for a little background, Brownwood has an amazing performing arts program called The Lyric. (My grandma grew up in Brownwood and used to watch movies at The Lyric in the 1940s!) Now, it's a live theater venue, and we've watched lots of productions there through the years.  Caedmon was recruited to audition for Footloose in April.  He was in the middle of baseball season but was getting NO playing time, so he decided to audition, knowing he would have to give up baseball if he got a role.  He ended up getting the lead, Ren McCormack (aka Kevin Bacon ;) and has spent HOURS the last 6 weeks rehearsing.  Nothing could have prepared us for what a great show it was or for how amazing Caedmon did!  His acting and singing were phenomenal and his dancing was decent (haha!) Best of all, he met a whole new group of friends - both his age and adults - who were so kind to him and gave him a place to belong!  We are SO proud of him and hope to see more of him at The Lyric! (Notice below he has quite the fan club ;)

This was just so fun!  It was fun to hear people talking about Caedmon - in the bathroom some ladies asked me, "Where is the boy from who is the lead?  He's incredible!"  Another group of ladies behind me in the aisle said, "Wow, that boy from Bangs is GOOD!"  The other lady responded with, "I know!  And did you see his bio?? He even plays SPORTS!!"  LOL!  It was so fun to see him shine :)
