Christmas 2018

We enjoyed our Christmas season of celebrating Christ's birth! We had a lot of different celebrations, some down time with family, and are headed for a family vacation tomorrow! Here is a look at our festivities!

Just goofin' around - school's out!!

Decorating our whiteboard with the 12 days of Christmas! 3 French hens!

2 Turtledoves!

When the weather's nice...you take a nap outside!

Our last pre-Christmas unit set delivery to Killeen...you can tell I got 5 hours of sleep the night before!

A lovely evening by the fire with Paw & Bmaw!

Vacation shopping! Because a winter storm is hitting and we certainly don't have the right clothes!

With this nice weather, we have spent a lot of time working on Mom & Dad's house! Blu has enjoyed honing his welding skills!

Caedmon got to help since school has been out!

Stapling the house wrap!

This picture doesn't do it justice, but Mom & Dad will have an amazing view!!

Ready for the house wrap!

Framed in!

It went smooth with 5 of us wrapping the house!

Mom & Dad left a LOT of sweat on that deck - they laid it themselves plank by plank!

Sierra and some of her family came over on Sunday night to exchange gifts...with everyone watching them! It was cute to watch and super awkward for them! ;)

Sierra's big brother, Trevor, was around to keep an eye on Caedmon!

Sierra got Caed a Christian t-shirt and a blanket she made that is half A&M and half UT! Caedmon got her an A&M hoodie and an "S" necklace!

Caedmon LOVES his blanket...the A&M side anyway!

On December 20th, we had our Tidwell Christmas party! (We worked around Shade's schedule as a cop - working nights right now!) Here's my weird pose..using my leg to cover the paint all over Blu's pants!

Hanging out - I enjoyed hosting in my new house!

Bmaw and her oldest grandkids!

One of our Tidwell family traditions is to go Christmas caroling down our road at our annual party! It was cold but we had a blast!

We gave the neighbors pumpkin bread and woke most of them up! ;)

The kids rode in the dump trailer!

Let heaven and nature (and Mom, and Dad, and Darbi...) sing!

Mom & Dad loved our caroling tradition!

This year, we did handmade/homemade presents. It was so neat to see what everyone made! Caedmon did oil paintings for everyone - Andie loved hers!

On Christmas Eve afternoon/evening, we had some awesome family time! We played Settlers, basketball, tetherball, took a family bike ride, did our final "Thankful" devotion that we started on December 1st, and watched a Christmas movie. It felt like a magical time together!

Because apparently it's REALLY funny to play tetherball against Mama... (I won.)

We also got a little bit of work done in the shop - the kids love making money when they're out of school!

On Christmas morning, we have a tradition of eating Blu's from scratch cinnamon rolls. This year, we opted for Cinnabon, and I have to say, they weren't nearly as good as Blu's!

Blu got John Cena fruit snacks!

And the Oregon Trail!

Blu got me an Ancestry DNA kit!!! So exciting!!!

Because of our Christmas vacation, we opted for one gift for each of the kids this year! They're ready!

Cambree wasn't very excited when she saw that they all got paintball guns...

Until she found a phone inside hers!!!!

The boys were excited!

Game time!

First injury!

Later on that day, we had Mom, Dad, and Teacher Diana over for appetizers, punch, lots of games, and a Christmas dinner! It was a great time together!

We hope your Christmas was wonderful...wherever you were! We have spent the day doing laundry, packing, gathering all cold weather items, and shopping for processed, frozen, pre-made, food for our vacation tomorrow! We are headed to Cloudcroft, New Mexico for skiing, tubing, spending time together in an Airbnb in the mountains, and exploring White Sands and Carlsbad Caverns! Happy New Year!
