Southeast Asia: Day 5

Day 5 (Wednesday) was an adventure-filled day in Asia!  From snorkeling with sharks to picking out our own live seafood to be cooked and eat, it was a pretty wild day!

This was Blu's pick for supper from Welcome Seafood - a fresh tilapia headed for the grill!

We treated the girls to a snorkeling trip to some of the nearby islands in the South China Sea.  It was a 6 hour trip, and we were exhausted afterwards, but we got to see some pretty amazing coral, neat fish (I saw a needle fish!), and several black tip reef sharks!

Coconut break at the beach!

Here we go!

Just me conquering all these uber and boat rides like a pro!

Our first ever coconut to drink - yuck!

SUCH a cutie!

There's our tilapia and crab on the grill!

How am I going to eat this crab with chopsticks......

Just 2 girls on the beach!

Our guide wanted Blu to wear this to protect his bald head!

She's the best :)

There's my meal in a bucket!

And on my plate!

Haven't braided her hair in forever!!

Our guide, Lily, was awesome!

Ready for a fun (HOT) day!

I LOVE this pic of her!

One of the islands we snorkeled around!

Welcome Seafood!

Our fish and crab going onto the grill!

I will be sad to come home, but I will be SO EXCITED to not eat Asian food for a very long time!!!

Southeast Asia: Day 4

Day 4 in Southeast Asia (Tuesday) was a day of exploring and just seeing what a typical day in their life looks like!  It was a lot of fun!

As I said, they move every 3 weeks into a different hostel and area of the city.  Their current room is in a nicer building with good security and is very centrally located, but it is TINY!

Heading back to our hotel room

I got to experience a 1 hour foot reflexology massage that was pretty awesome!

Deep tissue massages for Blu & Cam!

So many hugs!

So many naps for Blu!

If there is a cultural show in the vicinity that needs volunteers, you can pretty much guarantee my husband will be in it....

We had fun exploring a different side of the city - a 4 story mall that was HUGE!  Blu & Lydia tried out the VR roller coaster!

Cam was not a fan!

They have met 2 friends who both work at this mall, so they visit them pretty regularly.  We all had lunch together in the mall's food court!

One of my better meals - butter chicken and rice! (I will not be eating rice again for MONTHS after this trip!)

Meeting Cam's friend Vee.  They call Cam their "little sister!"

These pics are in reverse order, but they still tell the story well of Blu trying a "tea egg!"

Boiled in hot tea and spices...

A pretty marbling effect on the egg...

Blu said it was one of the nastiest things he's eaten!

Look!  Another uber ride!

The cars were so tiny that Blu always looked like this in the backseat, but I make him ride right beside me (instead of in the front) so he's a good man!

A VERY good strawberry soda!

Another one of their favorite malls to explore and find friends in

A local shopkeeper that they visit often named Moon

Blu loves exploring!

Their section of town is called Asia City

A delicious virgin mojito to close out the day!

We learned how to play the game Taco Cat Goat Cheese Pizza.  Blu and I are pretty much awful at it!
