Caedmon's Trip to New Day

Caedmon was given the opportunity to travel back to Zambia this summer with one of our favorite churches, Rosemont Baptist in La Grange, GA, and one of our favorite families, the Camps.

He left FLS Camp early and we drove him to Dallas, and he then flew to Atlanta.  He spent the night with the Camps and then got on a charter bus to Charlotte, NC, and then hopped on a plane to Newark, NJ and then straight to Johannesburg, South Africa.  After spending a night there, he flew to Livingstone and got on the New Day bus to head to New Day.  He spent 5 days there doing all sorts of things, and then the team headed to Victoria Falls, a jeep safari, a walk with white rhinos, and a river cruise.  He flew home from Livingstone to Johannesburg to London to Atlanta, and then I talked him through the Atlanta airport as he hopped on a plane by himself to Pensacola (just BARELY making it thanks to it being delayed), where we picked him up and headed to Beach Camp.

This trip had all the feels for all of us - it was just so emotional seeing pics of him back at "home," playing soccer where he grew up playing, the boys all grown up...it was just tough and awesome at the same time!  (for us as well as him!)  Here is how he described his trip in his own words:

Home.

❤ Zambia, Africa has my heart. Getting to go back to the place I call home was absolutely incredible. God is truly at work in the lives of the children at New Day. I have a heart for those kids. This trip was an amazing reminder of God's work. We did dentistry work for the kids there, played soccer and volleyball, ministered in the village, and helped lead devotions every morning and night. Not only did God work through the orphanage, but also through me. This mission trip helped deepen my relationship with the Lord. Knowing that I was working for the Kingdom of the Lord this past week, was a feeling I can't even describe. I used my story and my testimony to bring people closer to God and that was such a blessing. Not only was going back to Zambia awesome, but getting to do it with a team was incredible. I made amazing memories with each and every one of them and couldn't have been with a better group of people. God is so so good and I am thrilled to see where He guides and leads me next in order to further His Kingdom. So grateful for the opportunity! All Glory to God:)
