February Happenings!

When you go almost a month between blog posts....sorry!  I find myself rarely having the time to carve away to sit at the computer and blog these days.  I'm at the computer a LOT doing office work for our Unit Set/Wraps business, but blogging just isn't on my radar!  So it's 6:30am and I've done my quiet time, have Caedmon sent off to school, dishes done, laundry in, and realized...I have 30 extra minutes before I get the other two up!  So finally, a February blog post!

Caedmon isn't home much, which is sometimes sad but I guess is the typical life of a very involved teenager.  When he's home, though, he's usually outside!

Cambree is still home a lot..keeping us laughing!

She and Blu have a new obsession with solving (and racing) Sudoku puzzles!  One of Cambree's teacher told her she's a 90 year old in the body of a 13 year old!

Cambree and her "guy best friend" Hunter

Caedmon is enjoying being part of the One Act Play cast - The Grapes of Wrath! Competition starts March 3rd!

Caedmon's basketball game..and his personal cheerleader!
Yikes!  I did NOT take this picture...I saw it after the fact!  Yes, that's 11 year old Cason!

Getting ready for baseball season around here!

This January/February weather has been so strange, but we don't mind!

6 months until 7th grade sports starts for Cason!

It was a rough basketball season...they didn't win a single game!  But Caedmon played hard, definitely improved, and scored some points this year!

Prescott the cat is still around...naughty as ever!

We traveled to Abilene to watch our Varsity girls in a basketball playoff game - we've really loved watching the Varsity girls this year!

Kharis was not impressed with the game..

So we did a random thing and attended a semi-pro wrestling match at my dad's church.  It was....WEIRD!

Yes, that is Dad standing up when nobody else is...he was excited!  I would say he enjoyed it more than anyone, but....
...that would be a lie!

Cambree and Emily with "Loverboy"

We enjoyed watching the SuperBowl (not the halftime show) with friends!  Well, some of us enjoyed it.  Cambree took a book!

Me, Kesi, Kenny, & Tiffany

Blu is still working on construction of the house in Bangs.  This year has been crazy in the shop with unit set orders so he only gets out there once every 10 days or so, which drives him crazy!

A bunch of unit set pieces ready to go!  They wouldn't dry fast enough so we set them up around our wood burning stove to dry!  Blu called it our "Unit Set Stonehenge!"

Every Thursday we go to the high school or middle school and eat lunch with one of our youth kids (we do a drawing on  Wednesday nights.). Blu always tries to convince them to choose Chick-fil-a!

On the road, making deliveries, again!

We drove to Houston for a 2 day theatre conference.  We arrived at 3am and were DEAD!

All set up and ready to do some networking!

Our room. had a neat view in downtown Houston!

My favorite place to eat on deliveries!

Blu prefers Cheddar's!

On a one day trip to make 2 deliveries out in El Paso, we stopped along the way and saw my cousin Shanna who I hadn't seen in 10 years!!

This is my busy "Wraps Season."  We build the gray unit set pieces all year long, but from Jan-Apr, schools can order canvas wraps to cover their pieces that go along with they play.  This was a special order for a school doing a play on the Lindbergh kidnapping!  (Usually the wraps are plain white and then the schools decorate, but this was a special order of preprinted material!)

Building in the shop...we cut up our giant Rubik's cube!

Deliveries = good food!  This was some place in Gonzales, TX!

We love passing through Aggieland!

Starbucks after church on a Sunday afternoon while waiting on Caedmon to finish running some track!

Church is going great - I'm loving teaching the girls' Sunday school class - we have fun!

Our record number of Wednesday night youth was 34 last week - it was CHAOS but awesome to hear them being taught TRUTH!

Bmaw's 61st birthday was a dreary, rainy, 30 degree weather day, so Paw threw a party for her in the shop, cooking fajitas on our wood burning stove - it was so sweet!

Blu, Mama Dee (who was helping me with wraps that day), James (our friend/employee of 4 years), Paw, and Bmaw
Blu got Cambree a giant llama for Valentine's Day!
Cason got a...thing..from me!
Caedmon was over it and didn't want anyone to talk to him.. #notamorningperson
For Valentine's night, we had a double date with Kenny & Kesi at our church gym!  The kids played, we got Chinese takeout, played Horse/2 on 2, and 42!

Cambree meanwhile had a waitressing job at Paw and Bmaw's church Valentine's banquet with her cousin Andie!
And speaking of banquets, we attended our church's Senior Singles Banquet on Saturday night.  We were a little overdressed! ;)
On Sunday after church, we headed to Houston with 2 cars to give Wes and Laurie the New Day car to use while they're in the USA.  Laurie is getting all set up for treatment of her ovarian cancer at MD Anderson.
We ate some Fuddruckers (ha!) and enjoyed visiting together.
It had been about 12 years since we were together in the USA - it felt weird to be on this side of the ocean together!
So many people are praying for Wes & Laurie - don't stop!

It's now 6:53am and I have 7 minutes before I wake up the other kids and get them headed to school!  Hopefully my next post won't be a month from now, but....no promises!
