Seven Days to Go

I thought I didn't have much of anything to blog, and then when I downloaded my pictures from my phone, I realized a lot went on the last 7 days!!

"The old man" from Kabanga died, so Blu and Papa Tembo represented New Day at the funeral...which means they asked the white man to scatter dirt on the grave...

The big kids took a walk to the river with Aunt Gaye!

Blu working on electrical issues that have sprung up the last couple of weeks!

Last week, we finished Bud, Not Buddy in our Reading/Writing class! I have LOVED reading with these kids over the years. We are very quickly reading the sequel, The Mighty Miss Malone, before I leave!

Caedmon has been out of school this week, so Blu is using him to help work - Blu said he's been waiting for years for our kids to be old enough to do the "dumb jobs" like crawl around in the attic!

Last Friday was Caedmon and Cambree's last day of school!

Caedmon hurt his wrist playing basketball, but Blu fixed it with duct tape!

This is what happens when you move in with Grandpa!

Cambree went with Blu to Choma this week because she said she needed to find a shirt to wear back on the airplane!

And there is obviously a new church in Choma. I wonder if they wear turbans???

Church last week - the New Day kids (minus some babies!) sang for us!

Mama Yolantah and Edna

Cason had a date night with Aunt Chipo, where she cooked him nshima and kapenta!! He made his special peanut butter cookies and took her some fresh flowers!

That boy loves kapenta!

Chipo invited David & Emmanuel too!

Time for some new glasses for Kelitah!

Last Thursday was our last night in our house! Since we were having our big sale and had already sold most of our furniture and needed it to be moved out, we decided to move into The Ark (New Day's guesthouse) for our last 13 days. We had a family sleepover in the living room on our last night in the house!

My Mad Minute Champions for the 2nd term of school! Cynthia won in the 6th grade!

Mweene won in the 4th grade!

Last Friday, it was our boys' last soccer game with New Day (for awhile, anyway!) We played "away" at Godfrey's field and took the bus and ALL of the kids and parents who wanted to go!

It. was. cold.

Cambree and Justin doing pregame warmups!

Go Cason!! Most of the boys on the other team are 15-16 years old, but Cason hangs with them as a 9 year old!

Grandpa bundled up and watching the game!

Coach Justin!

Mweene the awesome goalie!

Sisi and Cynthia - our two oldest at New Day!

On Saturday morning, bright and early, we headed to the New Day soccer field for our massive sale. We invited the whole community, and it was complete madness!!! It wasn't too hard to get rid of things - our family's travel puzzles glued on boards were hard to let go of, and the step stool Blu made for our kids to reach the sink when we first moved here, but we survived!

Aunt Chipo aka Ironman!

DONE. And every last thing is gone!

Martha bought Cambree's loft bed, so Blu delivered it and put it together for her!

I had each of our kids work a table (and handle the money) themselves! Cason did a great job, but he needed a little break from people for awhile after that! ;)

Today begins our lasts! Last discipleship class, last prayer and praise, last Kids Club, last Sunday, and of course our big goodbyes on August 1st! We appreciate your prayers!
