A Normal Week followed by an Abnormal Saturday!

We had a pretty normal 5 day week at New Day...had a mini staff retreat on Monday afternoon with Pastor Mark, said goodbye to the team on Tuesday, and then finished up our week with our normal routine. Here is a look at a little that happened through the week!

Baby Elizabeth is getting so big! She's 4 months old now!

These two...I smell trouble!

Nella, our newest, with an almost smile!

Ceiling is up and ready for trim in the new school building!

Blu went to visit Mama Cecilia one evening and saw this - that's a lot of kids ready for bed!

Meanwhile, back in Brownwood...Paw and Bmaw are getting close to having the bunkhouse done!

Looking beautiful!

And Blu's brother Shade made a career change - leaving his job with the sheriff's department to work in the oil fields!

And while it's 105 in Texas...we are having a COLD winter here! It was 37 the other morning! So Cambree wore her Christmas sweater.

After soccer practice, the kids had to go on a 1.5 mile run around New Day! These two brought up the rear but made it!

Just a riding down the highway!

Cason led prayer & praise on Thursday night!

I helped Blu work on some ceiling trim in the new school building!

I snuck over during my off period on Friday to man the chop saw!

A smile from Baby Joy!

Justin all dressed up!

Some Kids Club action - Papa Ron with the jump rope!

Chileleko let me hold him for an hour! (I spent a lot of time walking around and singing!)

Glory, the girl who used to bathe in mud puddles....this pictures says a lot.

Mama Dee leading the lesson at Kids Club

There's a laugh from Nella!

The office renovation of the 40 foot shipping container is complete! This project cost $1000 and is a great office for Elizabeth (social work) and Chipo (finances). Here is Chipo working on an expense report!

Mama Liz ready to see the many visitors who come to New Day seeking help!

Mama Tembo said she was their first "client!"

It's such a cute little building!

Today (Saturday), we headed to Push the Rock in Macha for a sports day! We got to play soccer and basketball and had a great time!

Blu coaching the B team before their game!

Basketball's a rough sport..

Cason was not impressed..

Go girls!

Our B team lost 6-2 and our A team lost 14-0. It was a rough day for us! But we looked good in our uniforms. ;)

Cambree and Axer are great point guards on the B team!

Papa Ron - the best ref in the world, according to Cambree!

Cheering section!

Everyone always has a blast when they get to leave New Day for a bit and interact with other kids their age!

Ben made some great saves as goalie!

Blu giving Cason a pep talk!

The two teams ready to play!

Caedmon sporting his new cleats! (The boys all got new cleats last week in town!)

Cambree - go #22!

It's hard to look much cooler than this guy - mohawk and pink shoes...he's rocking it!

We are hoping for a very restful Sunday tomorrow and looking forward to the 4 day week ahead! Friday starts our mid-term break, and we are headed out for a family weekend trip!
