Homecoming Week!

Homecoming Week 2019 has come and gone, and we survived it!!!  There were dress up days, cross country meets, volleyball games, football games, pep rallies, a bonfire, band, drama practice, high school open house, football practices, church, etc!!  It was a great week to celebrate being Bangs Dragons!

Cason was part of a Toy Story group on "Dress Like Your Homies Day!"  He was Woody - they won!

Cambree & Hannon on Dress Like Your Homies Day!

Pajama Day - growing up too fast!
Cambree looking adorable for Pajama Day!
Support Your Team Day! Who else would we support?!
Tourist Day!  Cambree went to Hawaii and Cason went to Zambia (for a soccer game!)
How Caedmon felt about dressing up for Homecoming Dress Up Days...
Friday was Green Out!  No, I did not make her mum - I ordered it online and it turned out to be really huge, but it wasn't that expensive at all as far as mums go!
Cason with his mum for Abby!
Caedmon wore a camo garter - I couldn't believe he actually wore it all day and at the game too!

How cute are they?!
Instead of a garter, Abby got Cason a bag of his favorite snacks - he was pumped!
Root Beer!
Ready for the game!  She had to sell programs on Friday.
Discussing football at the Homecoming game!  (We won!)

Caedmon and a sweet friend, Stormie
This was when Cason actually gave Abby the mum - he was so nervous!
Cambree ran a cross country meet in Sidney last Tuesday!  Here she is - the downhill start!
She got 13th out of 30, and the team got 1st!
Awesome job Junior High Girls!
Caedmon ran the next day in Hico.  Here he is getting warmed up before his race with a game of Fortnite with Ventura!
It was the hilliest course he'd ever run!!  He ended up placing 24th...out of about 50-60 I'm guessing?

SO tired on the way home!
Pep rally time!
Cambree and Bri before the pep rally - no doubt talking about how nervous they are!
I won't inundate every single blog this football season with cheer pics, but man she's so cute!

There's Cason in the stands with the 6th graders, who are the loudest class BY FAR.

Post-pep rally fun!

Mom and I stayed in Bangs to watch Cambree cheer, while the guys went to Winters to watch Caedmon play.  Yes, we did sneak Chick-fil-a into my purse for the game. ;)

The home stands are in the sun...with the aluminum bleachers, we pretty much DIED.

First run through sign!  Cambree was so excited about everything!

She also got to cheer at the high school pep rally on Friday, where there were TONS of people!  They did awesome!

Cason brought home some fun reading last week...he's a little obsessed with dark poetry!!

Look what Mom makes in her spare time, using our scraps from the shop!
Another early morning headed down the road to catch the "Grandpa Bus!"
Paw said he needed to "hold up the table" for a little bit after lunch ;)
I got a new shirt. :)
Caedmon had a great game in Winters this past week!  They lost (it was SO close!) but he played the entire game at wide receiver (almost caught a pass that was thrown over his head!) and safety!

Caleb and Caedmon

Cason is playing youth football this Fall for the Bangs 5th-6th grade team!  He's playing some left guard and outside linebacker and loves to tackle people!  Their uniforms are awesome - the Tidwell family business and Mom & Dad split the cost to sponsor the uniforms!

He likes to look over at us!
This is the best picture ever of my Dad!  And...it was hot.
Go #11!  Get that tackle!
Caedmon gave up his ONE day a week to sleep in to go and watch Cason play!

So stinkin' adorable!
They lost (badly) to Brownwood, a HUGE team, but they played great!  And...it was hot.
DQ Blizzard for the win!
Meanwhile, at the bonfire...Caedmon rushed back from cross country to church, then headed to the bonfire to play!
Although he's not sure if he'll play next year, Caedmon seems to be enjoying Band!
Marching in for the pep rally!
And the game!  He's the one wearing a garter.  Blu was yelling SO loud for him, but he wouldn't look up at us. ;)
It's a big group this year!
First one in line on the 40!

He likes getting the 3rd quarter free to walk around!

And that was our week!  It ended on an unfortunate note, as we were babysitting some friends, and we took them to the trampoline park.  After 5 minutes there, Cambree hurt her leg doing a cartwheel (we're guessing hamstring), so she's headed to the doctor tomorrow to see how many weeks she'll miss of cheer/volleyball/cross country!

On an awesome note, though, things at Rocky Creek Baptist Church are going great!  We are having 15-25 come on Wednesday nights, our Thursday Lunch Bunch is going well, and Blu's doing super leading music on Sundays!  He even brought out the drums during worship this morning, and everyone loved it!  We are really enjoying this sweet church!
