After 5 months of work, Mom & Dad's house is finished! It took longer than expected due to a location change (thank you, grumpy neighbor), some HUGE rocks we ran into when starting the foundation, and some weather issues, but we are DONE! After 8 months in the USA, Mom & Dad can finally get settled and start their life of retirement! (haha - Dad will be pastoring a church in no time, mark my words!) This was an awesome house to build, because we did almost every bit of it ourselves. Except for the cement porches, granite countertops, air conditioning, and septic, we did it! Blu's parents have built tons of houses, but this was our first time to get to experience a house build from the ground up in the USA. (Things are a little different in Zambia!) We hope there are more houses to build and/or flip in our future! Enjoy the pics of Cactus Corner - 1008 square feet of indoor living!

Not great lighting, but this is the guest room, which will serve as Mom's craft room! |

Mom & Dad made awesome choices (paint, floors, etc.) to turn Cactus Corner into the "farmhouse" they were wanting. The outside is gorgeous too, but I will wait until we have cleaned up some to take pics of it! There is a HUGE covered porch in the back with an amazing view! We are blessed to have both sets of grandparents within walking distance. So....who's babysitting first?!
