Spring Stuff!

Spring is busy busy!  The last couple of weeks have been insane, and nothing seems to be slowing down, so I am soaking up the sun (when it's here) and every spare minute with my babies who are growing up way too fast!!!

Paw & Bmaw hanging out watching Cason run track!

Blu was cold, so he wore his ski jacket to the track meet!

My Kesi!!  This girl right here has been my biggest and most unexpected blessing upon returning from Zambia - I TREASURE her friendship.

Kirsten & Caleb - two of our awesomest youth!

Hanging out at Paw's birthday party with the Tidwell/Howell clan!

Chicken and fried potatoes - yum!

We all love Paw's taters!

We've spent a few days working at our flip house - we are uncovering one wall of 1930s shiplap in each room!

My senior girls at church brought me flowers on Wednesday night - so sweet!!!

One of my mornings last week started like this - we got the kids to school and I sang while Blu played as he prepped his Sunday music!

We don't mind road trips delivering unit sets because we get to eat at good places like Texas Roadhouse!

It sure did make for a LONG day in the truck though!

A fun game night trying out a new game (Pandemic) with Kesi & Kenny!

Here's a look at Cason!  He's enjoyed running hurdles during track season (he has one more meet left), and he will start city league baseball soon!

Here's a few last pictures from basketball season that Bmaw got - you do NOT want Cason guarding you!

Cason & AJ hanging out on the roof...

My little baby all grown up in his track uniform!

He enjoyed a morning fishing trip with Grandpa a few Saturdays ago!

Here's a look at what Cam's been up too.  She doesn't play any spring sports, so she stays busy with theatre, debate, and watching her brothers!

And hugging on sweet girls like Kharis!

And having silly photo shoots with me....

I love this girl!

Caedmon has been busy with EVERYTHING - theatre, track, baseball, his girlfriend, etc.!

A last pic of basketball season from Bmaw!

He plays left field on the JV baseball team, and his batting has improved a lot!

This is how he feels about running the 400m run!  But he's doing great!  He currently has PRs in the 800m of 2:31, 62 in the 400m, and 5:51 in the mile!

We also had our 8th-12th grade Spring Retreat a couple of weeks ago!  We had 23 kids - a great group!

They all stayed at our house - boys camped out/stayed at Paw's and Bmaw's, and the girls stayed in our house!  Paw was an awesome pancake flipper!

Blu & Heath, our awesome Howard Payne University youth intern!

Landon and Camille - our associate youth pastor.  We can't wait for their wedding on May 15th!

Caedmon, Matthew, and Chris

I don't know how this guy does ALL that he does, but he does it very well...

Pictionary!

This week is a crazy one with BiDistrict One Act Play Competition, 2 baseball games, UIL Academic Competition, and a track meet!  I need a nap just thinking about it! ;)

Spring Break Mini Ski Trip 2021

We didn't plan to go anywhere this Spring Break, due to baseball for Caedmon and a D-Now for our youth group, but when Blu's brother Shade and his family ended up with a house in Pagosa Springs, CO and two other families backed out on them, we decided to do a very quick road trip to take our family skiing for 2 days at Wolf Creek, CO!  Here is a look at our whirlwind trip!

We only had 2 days to ski, and Monday was HORRIBLE on the slopes!  It was 28 degrees, constant snowfall, high winds, and just miserable!

Do we look like we're having fun?!

Caedmon was waiting for Cason, so he took a break - look at those clouds though!  Yuck!

We're becoming pros at this!

This was our kids' first trip to Colorado!

It was not their first trip to New Mexico...the state of low speed limits and horrible roads!

After we got tired of skiing, we headed back to the truck (heater!) to wait for the boys!

Blu and Shade!  We did one run together before Shade had to get back to his family in ski school!

This cutie!

I promise he was having a good time, but this is his, "I'm hungry" face!

Me and Cason on the lift

The boys - cold!

Blu fell TWICE just trying to get his ski on - we might have laughed.  And tried to take a picture!

Look at those beautiful blue skies on day 2 of skiing - it was perfect and worth the trip!

Cambree did a messy bun on me..

An awesome meal at Colorado Roadhouse!

My handsome (hungry) guys!

Blu after Day 1 - ready to get warmed up!

Me and Cam waiting in the truck again while the boys go down some blacks!

Me and Caedmon on a lift

Cambree on a lift on Day 1...she was COLD and ready to go!

There's that smile!

It's hard to believe we have become a ski family - this was our kids' 3rd ski resort to visit, my 5th, and Blu's 6th!

Blu and Cason had several epic battles of chess (Cason beat him once!)

Caedmon, Andie, Cambree, and Lauren

A game of Texas Hold'em using Lucky Charms as chips!

Just chilling!

Shade & Caity had pizza ready for us when we got in!

It was a pretty town, but we didn't explore much!  We arrived Sunday at 5pm and left Tuesday at 5pm!

Road trips with Cason...

Caedmon drove on the interstate for the first time!

22 hours total in the car...

Caedmon drove about 2 hours of it, I drove about an hour of it, and Blu drove the rest!

Fun in the backseat with Cam!

I love this guy - I love skiing with him!  He's so patient with me!

Blu and the boys did this black diamond.

We didn't get a pic of all of us, but here's 4 of us!

We had the best time on a family bike ride on a 3 mile trail around our house and Village Lake!

They had 2 tandem bikes for us to use which were SO fun!

Cool picture Blu took!

Village Lake view of my babies!

Cambree ALMOST ran into a tree....

She's gotten so good at skiing - my whole family has left me behind!

Biking trail

We laughed so hard!

Here's the only pic we got of all of us - it was a fun trip!

Is it Darbi?  Or Cambree?  Can you tell?

A father/daughter battle of 42!

After skiing on Tuesday, we loaded up and started driving home.  Caedmon had baseball practice Wednesday afternoon, and we had church Wednesday evening and our D-Now starting on Thursday!  We were going to stop halfway, but we never did...we just kept driving and driving!  So we finally arrived home at 5:45am on Wednesday morning, turned our phones off, and set our alarms for 11:30am!  It was a great trip, we were glad to be home, and now are ready for the rest of our Spring Break!
