The last few days have been nothing short of a miracle. Last Thursday, a team of 24 arrived from GracePoint Church in Bentonville, Arkansas. This is their 4th...or 5th...trip to New Day! They were our first "big" team that came back in May 2010 and camped out, helping build the first orphan house. Now, they are back with another construction crew to finish another orphan house! When they got here, the walls were up and the roof trusses were built. We had hopes that in the 5 days they were here they would put up the roof, do the electrical, and do the plumbing. We knew those were high hopes, but Blu's mom prayed at prayer & praise last Thursday night that it would happen, AND IT DID. Blu & Wes kept having to go back into Choma for more supplies to keep them busy! When all is said and done, all of that will have been done along with the ceiling boards painted and up! We have also enjoyed the 6 ladies on the team who have helped out in the school, teaching at Kabanga with Kailyn & Jamee, and done a mural around the fire pit!
But first, Cambree's Kenyan Chocolate Cake!
Caleb McDaniel, who lived in Zambia as an MK from the ages of 3 to 7, leading Sunday morning's Adult Bible Study!
A collage of the house before and after the first day!
The New Day kids helped work on the mural!
Jamee hanging out with Emmanuel, who is adjusting so well!
A smile from Justin!
Phillip & Luumuno
Sweet Stanley
Carly teaching an Art Class at Kabanga Basic School
The team has one more day and will head to Livingstone on Wednesday morning. Meanwhile in Texas...my parents are doing final packing as they BOARD THE AIRPLANE in TWO days. :)
