Dinosaurs!

We had a fun weekend! We spent Saturday with our pastor and his family and our new associate pastor and his family at Dinosaur Valley Park in Glen Rose, Texas for a staff retreat! We were supposed to be doing calendar planning, and we did a little bit, but mainly we just played!! The weather in Texas sure is gorgeous these days!

The kids had no idea what was going on except that we were going to see some big dinosaurs!

It was so hard for me to just let them play in the dirt!!

Caedmon was definitely in his element!

These are our 2 favorite girls in the world - Brindley (BB) and Joanna (Jonanna) our preacher's daughters!

My friend Leighanne took this--she is an amazing photographer!!

Happy Birthday to......ME!!!

My 28th birthday was this past Tuesday, October 21st. It was a great day--I was so spoiled!! When I woke up, there were flowers waiting for me in the kitchen from my sweet Blu. My mom also drove up (1 1/2 hour drive--she comes about once a week), and she watched Cambree while I went and got a 1 hour pedicure, and then she took me out to eat! Then, Blu had arranged for babysitters, and he took me to Applebee's for supper (my favorite!) and took me to a wellness place to get a 1 hour prenatal massage--it was heavenly!! We finished off the evening walking around Walmart (one of my FAVORITE things to do without the kids!)

In the midst of all of this, it was a little crazy as well. Caedmon began running 104.7 fever randomly during the day, so we rushed him to the doctor as well. He is still sick and running fever, and he has tonsilitis, or strep, or we really have no idea! But he's on antibiotics so we're hoping he gets better soon!!

Here are the pics of me with my flowers before our date and me with my yummy chocolate chip cookie cake!

2 years...

Today is the 2 year anniversary of my sister and her family arriving in Zambia, Africa to serve as career missionaries with the International Mission Board. Though they have had their share of trials, God has blessed their ministry there and they are seeing new church starts and ministry points in an area that previously had no Christian witness. Check out their website at www.nyikaforchrist.blogspot.com!

Anyway, it's hard to believe I haven't seen my sister in 2 years!! She has never met my 2 year old daughter! For the past 2 weeks though, her husband Blake has been in Texas to be with his mom while she undergoes an operation/treatment for breast cancer (praise the Lord she is doing great and should have a COMPLETE recovery!) We were able to hang out with "Uncle Blake" on Saturday, and it was a wonderful reunion! Just 2 more years until their whole family is back in the States--I can't wait!

The Princess Bride

Have you seen that movie? I personally find the humor in it very weird, but my husband and his family LOVE that movie. My kids even watch it when they go to their grandparent's house! The other day, I caught Caedmon putting Cambree in a choke hold! He quickly informed me that "that's what the giant does on Princess Bride!" Anyway, if you've seen the movie, you may remember the crazy lady with long white hair that is famous for basically one line in the movie...."The Pit of Despair"
